Shanti Kunj is at a distance of 6 kms from Haridwar Railway Station.This ashram, called Yugtirtha, houses the headquarters of the All India Gayathri Parivar.The founder of Shantikunj is Pandit Shriram Sharma, he founded it in the year 1971.

Shantikunj was established in 1971 by Pandit Shri Ram Sharma Acharya ji, at that time this work was done on a very small level, after that it spread in the name of Gayatri Nagar on a very large scale, here many high level spiritual camps were organized under his guidance.
 Lakhs of devotees used to participate in the tribute ceremony at this place in the memory of Pandit Shri Ram Sharma ji, after some years in 1998, he constructed another complex which is situated at a distance of 1 kilometer from Shantikunj which was named Gayatri Kunj. University named as Dev Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya.
