Itmad-ud-Daulah's Tomb
Itmad-ud-Daulah’s Tomb -Agra
Agra city of Uttar Pradesh is one of the most historical cities of India because many big and beautiful monuments and buildings were built here since ancient times.

One such beautiful monument is the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah located in Agra.

Due to the grandeur of this tomb, it is also known as Baby Taj and Jewel Box.
Asin Empress Nur Jahan, on the post of Wazir, built the Etmad-ud-daula tomb on the banks of the Yamuna in the memory of her father.

This tomb was built in the memory of Nur Jahan’s father Ghiyas-ud-din Baig, who was a minister in Jahangir’s court.

Due to this tomb being smaller than other tombs of the Mughal period, this tomb is sometimes also called Shringardan.

The gardens, pietra dura mosaic, and many components in this tomb resemble the Taj Mahal.

For the first time, the use of burning gems on stone was used.

Built between 1622 and 1628, Itmad-ud-Daula’s tomb is situated on the left bank of the Yamuna River.

Itmad-ud-Daulah’s tomb has multicolored ornamentation and carvings on the entire surface for which it is very famous.

Bouquet, rose-water urn, grapes, wine cup and bottle have been used for ornamentation.

Flowers are depicted mostly in the form of paintings in bouquets.

Itmad-ud-Daulah’s Tomb -Agra
The main gate of this mausoleum is in the eastern part, while the northern and southern parts have been elaborately constructed.

There is a multi-story building in the middle of the western part, this building hangs above the Yamuna.
This is the first tomb built in India, which was made entirely of white marble.

Pictures of trees, plants, animals and birds have been carved on the walls of this tomb.

In some places, pictures of men can also be seen, which seems to be a unique reason because Islam forbids the use of humans as decorations.

Being the capital of the Mughal Empire here for many years, the city of Agra is replete with architectural buildings.

Which further enhances the beauty of this place and its glory.

This tomb is open from sunrise to sunset and
(closed on Fridays)
